Dr. Carolyn Agresti is a medical doctor who has treated patients with ear, nose and throat problems for the past 25 years. Her areas of expertise include: thyroid and parotid surgery, laser surgery of the larynx, state-of-the-art treatment of vocal cord paralysis, hearing/balance disorders and sleep apnea. Dr. Agresti has advanced training in the medical treatment of sinus disorders and endoscopic sinus surgery.
Dr. Agresti graduated Cum Laude with Honors in Biology from Tulane University and received her medical degree from Tulane Medical School. She completed two years of General Surgery/Trauma training at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City and received her Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery training at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital under the chairmanship of Dr. Simon Parisier. Her Head and Neck training was completed at Memorial Sloan Kettering, under the tutelage of doctors Jatin Shah, Elliot Strong and Ron Shapiro. In New York, Dr. Agresti maintained staff privileges at Lenox Hill Hospital and Cornell Medical Center. For five years, she served as an Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center, instructing and training residents. She established the Cornell Voice Laboratory and the Cornell Voice Care Program to treat and study vocal disorders. She has treated numerous celebrities for the care of their voice and has published in the field of vocal disorders. While at New York Hospital Medical/Cornell Medical Center, Dr. Agresti diagnosed Jackie Kennedy Onassis’ cancer. In 1996, Dr. Agresti joined Palm Beach Ear, Nose & Throat Association, where she served as President for the last seven years, before leaving in 2014 to start her own practice.
